FraktalMCP 1.0 on Food4Rhino
Our Grasshopper plugin connects a written request to Rhino geometry or Python code, using your own Anthropic API key.
FraktalMCP is available on Food4Rhino as a plugin for Grasshopper in Rhino 8 on Windows. It uses Claude through the user’s own Anthropic API key. This release gives our work on natural-language design tools a public starting point.
Choose the output for the task
The plugin has two output modes: geometry in the Rhino viewport, or Python code for a Grasshopper scripting component. The first is useful for inspecting a geometric proposal; the second leaves code a designer can read and continue.
In either case, start with a small operation and explicit units. Compare the result with the requested dimensions and relationships before making it part of a larger definition. Generated geometry and code still need architectural and technical review.
Check the setup
The listing provides the download and installation requirements. Rhino 8, Grasshopper, an internet connection and a valid Anthropic API key are part of the setup. The plugin is free under the MIT licence; the model provider’s API usage is separate.
Keep the first test definition and expected result alongside the installation notes. That gives another user a way to distinguish a setup problem from a design request the model did not handle.
Where this work leads
FraktalMCP is separate from Falcon, our working research prototype for assistance with existing Grasshopper definitions. The shared question is how a written instruction can become a change the designer understands and can inspect. The Food4Rhino listing below remains the source for the published plugin.
